There are four other competitions, in addition to the Garden Competition which run alongside the Show. They are:

• The very popular fancy dress competition for children. One of last year’s entrants (shown on right)

• For schools, there will be a handwriting competition with the Riverside Cattery Shield being awarded to the winning school. Schools at Swinefleet, Reedness, Eastoft and Luddington are being invited to compete and the subject matter will be a Nursery Rhyme for under 6yrs and poems for 7 to 11 yrs and over 11 yrs.

• A Sunflower Competition for children up to 16 years. Seeds have now been distributed via the schools and are still available from Karen Henderson. If you want to enter, time is running out if the flowers are to be given a good chance to make the “BIG” time, so get planting NOW!! Entries close on 13th July. 1st Prize is a £5 book Token.

• A decorated wheelbarrow competition which had its first run last year. The committee are expecting plenty of entries this time-just use your imagination and let’s see what you can do with just an ordinary wheelbarrow!!
